MODALITIES OF ACCESS TO FOREIGN PATIENTS
Foreign citizens, including those who are not in compliance with the rules on entry and residence, are guaranteed treatment that is unavoidable and urgent, including the protection of the health of minors and maternity protection.
Foreign citizens residing in Italy and enrolled in the SSN are guaranteed care provided by the SSR.
Access to foreign patients is permitted by presenting the following documentation:
- Italian EHIC (European Health Insurance Card)
- Non-Italian EHIC
- Other EU certificate
- STP card
- Certificate from a convention country
- Private insurance (indirect assistance)
- ENI card
